The real differentiator is motion architecture, not a huge work area
The MAX is still a compact 300 mm square machine. That means it is best considered for smaller precision parts, fixtures, engraving and compact desktop workflows rather than as a sign-making or sheet-processing machine. The reason it deserves separate attention is the published ball-screw/linear-guide architecture and a deeper 78 mm Z figure compared with many small starter routers.

The 3020-PRO MAX V2 is physically smaller in Y, with a normalized 300 × 205 mm work area, while the 3030-PROVer MAX moves to a square 300 × 300 mm envelope.
